Invisalign Services in Winter Park
Invisalign Teeth Straightening
Whether you are looking for a straighter smile or perhaps are concerned with how your “bite” comes together – we are happy to offer complimentary Invisalign consultations for our patients!
Dr. Yu is proud to offer multiple treatment options for teeth straightening using the Invisalign system at our office. The majority of cases that Dr. Yu treats are cosmetic (overall straighter appearance), minor changes to your "bite" (such as those looking to alleviate symptoms of TMJ / clenching before seeking other potentially invasive procedures), and quick re-treatments for those that had braces in the past but have lost or broken retainers. However, we can't do it all – and we still do refer some patients to orthodontists with unique or more comprehensive and lengthy treatments. If you're unsure, we're happy to provide a free consultation!
Why does Dr. Lina Yu use the Invisalign system for teeth straightening?
While there has been an explosion in competing services in the last few years, Invisalign – by the company Align Technology- pioneered and continues to innovate orthodontic treatment with clear aligners. Simply put, we trust them because, in our opinion, they're the best overall treatment for our patients.
When our dentist, Dr. Yu, puts together a teeth straightening plan for a patient, it's done with safe, predictable movements in mind. Her treatment will always lean towards a patient's long-term satisfaction (clinically and for cosmetic dentistry). For this reason, the Invisalign system is an excellent match for us as an office because it lets Dr. Yu treat our patients with the precision and convenience we expect.
What about other online services? While these online “direct to patient” teeth straightening services can be a good fit for some patients, oftentimes there are many considerations that your local dentist will be able to accommodate and plan for, which is only possible when doing a dentist-guided treatment like we do with Invisalign. Specifically, if a patient has any required dental work or conditions, they should be remedied before straightening. Past dental work is also a significant consideration; if a patient has ever had a dental crown, bridge, implants, or other prosthodontics – your plan must provide teeth movements in consideration for these existing restorations.

Treatment Plan Design
From there, Dr. Yu will take all your information, photos, and 3D scan, along with the discussion she had with you, to design a specific treatment plan for you.
The plan will include the length of treatment (in weeks), the predicted tooth movements at each stage, and an animated simulation from the initial to the final stage.
Treatment Plan Review (Optional)
Once Dr. Yu has finished your plan, we invite the patient back for an in-office presentation of the treatment plan with Dr. Yu and an opportunity for you to ask any questions! This appointment is optional, but many patients enjoy thoroughly reviewing the plan and asking questions. We can skip this appointment and begin treatment for those with busy schedules or looking to move quickly. During the appointment, we will focus on:
Length of your treatment
Visual preview and description of before/after and final stage results
Address special considerations such as whitening, veneers, wisdom teeth, etc.
Your total treatment price, payment options, and usage of insurance benefits to help cover
Treatment Start
Once you're comfortable with the Treatment Plan, you can start immediately by having us manufacture your aligners. Or, you can wait up to 3 months (from the date of the initial 3D scan) to decide. After this time, a new treatment plan will need to be designed for you to maintain accuracy.
Consultation Appointment
A complimentary appointment focused on teeth straightening, Invisalign, and overall smile enhancement.
Specifically, we will cover:
Discussion of your cosmetic or clinical concerns
Intraoral photos of your current smile
3D scan of your mouth
Overview of process, pricing, and insurance coverage
Firstly, as a standard and best-practice step, we need to establish your dental health with a quick dental checkup. If you’re already an existing patient – this is done! However, if you are a new patient, then Dr. Yu would need to perform a standard dental exam so she can fully understand your dental health when undergoing Invisalign treatment.
We can still do the complimentary Invisalign consultation first! But we do need to perform the dental exam before starting the treatment itself.
